Mood Boosters

We all want to be happier. And why not? Our forefathers did, after all, declare it to be one of our inalienable rights. Besides, having a positive glow doesn’t just feel good — it’s good for us. What's going on in our head is strongly connected to what's going on in the rest of our bodies: If you're feeling emotionally low, physical lows tend to follow.

Competing demands, a tough boss, money stress and bratty kids — these are all parts of life that can drain us and pull us down. Learning how to fight stress and stay upbeat has a positive domino effect on our lives. We tend to be kinder, which leads to more satisfying relationships. We sleep better, which gives us more energy and makes us more productive. And we may even bolster our immune system, which can lead to a longer life.

Wow Fact
All it takes is a short walk to get a noticeable mood boost. Researchers
from Northern Arizona University found that just 10 minutes of moderate
exercise — a brisk stroll, for instance — both improves your mood and
re-energizes you.

Being positive makes me feel good. I do not like to be around negative people as they rub off on me. I feel that if I am positive, my behavior will rub off onto others and they may then have a better day!

Exactly, be positive. There will be lows in your life, no matter how hard you try to avoid them, you just can't get rid of them. You've just got to believe that whatever wrong is happening with you won't keep on bugging you for too long, and there will be an end to it, someday, somehow. And trust me, if you're taking all odds in a sporty manner, you will, at the end of the day, be the winner.
